Summary Position
The Director of Internships for the Love School of Business (LSB) reports to the Director of Undergraduate Programs in the LSB and provides leadership for the internship experience among LSB students. Undergraduate LSB students are required to complete one internship for academic credit as a graduation requirement. The Director is responsible for supporting student efforts to secure internships, monitoring the internships, and assessing the performance of students completing their internships for academic credit. The Director will interact with internship supervisors, employers, the external community, as well as relevant Elon staff and faculty to meet those objectives. The Director of Internships works within the Porter Family Professional Development Center with three other highly motivated and engaged staff, and seven student ambassadors who serve as the first point of contact within the Porter Center.

    MBA or Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs or a related discipline with a minimum of five years of work experience.

    ·Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills suitable for a corporate audience·Extensive experience in the use of relevant technologies, particularly with respect to assessments and career development (Symplicity and Qualtrics experience is a plus)·Proficiency with MS Office and database management experience·High level of organizational ability, including the ability to organize and coordinate a diverse workload with attention to detail and ability set and meet deadlines·An autonomous work style, with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Advising and Mentoring·Advise students in career planning and career-related decisions·Guide students to secure appropriate internships to enhance overall academic experience and learn skills essential to conduct a successful job search·Conduct internship information sessions throughout the year, as well as additional class presentations that are relevant to the internship program within the Love School of Business·Support 10-12 international business dual-degree (IBDD) students in securing an internship, collaborating with the Global Education Center and Director of the IBDD program to ensure employment authorization, and oversee their 16-credit internship course during the yearAdministrative·Coordinate and administer all aspects of the for-credit internship program, including all administrative and academic management of the program (serving approximately 400-450 students each academic year)·Coordinate with faculty to infuse professional development content into the Gateway to Business course (BUS 1110) throughout the academic year (fall, winter, and spring)·Work collaboratively with faculty and administration to create policy and procedures to ensure the academic quality and integrity of internships
    ·Share assessment data related to internships and work within the Porter Center to stakeholders
    ·Supervise student ambassadorsContact with Employers·Track and assess internship sites and supervisors, assuring that all students are completing high quality internship experiences·Travel to internship locations and conduct site visits with internship employers·Maintain relationships with key employers and industry contacts·Assess third party study abroad providers to determine viability of internships for credit while abroadAdditional duties as assigned

    MBA or Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs or a related discipline with a minimum of five years of work experience. A minimum of five years of work experience.
