The position plans and performs audits and consulting services to evaluate the security, integrity, contingency planning, policy and regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management of the University's information technology (IT) systems.

Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Information Technology Auditor (00441). The position plans and performs audits and consulting services to evaluate the security, integrity, contingency planning, policy and regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management of the University's information technology (IT) systems.
Responsibilities:
- Performs an annual information technology risk assessment; proposes and prioritizes audits based on risk; and, develops an annual audit plan for review by the Director of Internal Audit;
- Drafts audit programs that identify the audit objectives and the testwork designed to accomplish the objectives based on control analyses and the documented understanding of the system;
- Plans, performs, and documents information technology audits while applying the Standards established by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA);
- Determines compliance with policies and procedures, including cybersecurity control frameworks;
- Develops conclusions from work performed as to the effectiveness of management's controls;
- Effectively communicates audit results through organized and concise audit workpapers and prepares the initial drafts of written audit reports addressing corrective actions;
- Serves in an advisory capacity within university committees related to information technology;
- Works professionally with the University community and maintains a technical base of knowledge, stays current with industry technical and organizational trends, products, services and best practices;
- Performs special project work and other duties as assigned, including assisting with the design and performance of financial, compliance and operational audits; and
- Provides technical support and expertise to the Internal Audit staff in the use of computer assisted audit techniques.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business information systems, or related area; and Master's degree preferred;
- Combination of education and/or moderate work experience which demonstrates sound technical knowledge of computerized systems, networking, systems analysis/design, and risk assessment processes required;
- Preference given for experience with and knowledge of Oracle databases, client-server environments, secure web design, and Windows operating system;
- Demonstrates effective problem solving/analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with audit team members and university personnel;
- CISA or CIA related certifications desirable.
